The flag of the Netherlands - crimson, white, and cobalt blue

The Dutch flag is based on the "Prince's Flag" from Orania which was in bright orange, white and blue. The flag was used by the pirate forces that helped the prince in the revolt against Spain. The colors have probably changed because of the strength of the red and dark blue which look better especially in the sea. The flag has no special meaning
